I installed it yesterday
Took about 45 min ..
Now I have
Speedo (not that I need it) calibrated to actual tire condition
Average Speed
Maximum Speed (so can brag about how fast I go)
Trip distance (useful for Rashid as his odo and speedo is cracked)
Total Distance (useful to keep check of service interval)
Trip Ride time
Total Ride time
Clock
Total cost
Sigma BC906 (www.sigmasport.com) RM70
Magnet from GIVI used for tank bag RM10
You can actually use any strong magnet .. like the one from mini headphones but I have that spare GIVI Tank Bag magnet in my tool box.
Here the pics

Rash,
Really simple thing to install
You have all the information you need to replace the crack od/speedo for less than RM80 !
Any good bicycle shop sells it
google "sigma bicycle trip computer installation on motorcycle" or something like that ... a lot of motobikers got it installed and gave thumbs up
afterall it is cheap thrill for so little investment |

modified my installation today
cannot tahan the white cable tie
so changed to black and looks so much better
I also experiment with a cheap magnet from
the hardware shop .. the one found in the door magnet
It small and powerful enug and cost RM1 !!!
and works
Got it epoxy-glued to the disk already ..
would be buying a spare to put in the bike juz in case the one installed falls off
picture tomorrow

Part Two
Calibration and Testing
I Replaced the cable ties with black ones
Of course the position of sensor varies but do secure them properly with enough force to hold them in place
Sensor Magnet
I used the magnet from the hardware shop that cost RM1 with great success. Small and powerful enough to register proper readings
Note: ditch (keep la) the supplied magnet as it is not strong enough as the distance between magnet and sensor is more than 5mm. The supplied magnet/sensor cannot be fixed more than 5mm apart
Calibration
Sigma Trip computers allows very precise calibration of wheel sizes
You can calculate the wheel circumference via
measuring the length the wheel travels in one full revolution
or
calculate via the diameter of wheel (rim+tire) x 3.14 (that phi)
input the value into the setting in 'wheel size'
HOWEVER
I got the little computer to give some 15% below the reading given by my bike speedo
FINE-TUNING
Option 1
Ride the bike with road side mile markers
take note how much it give vs the actual mile (or km) traveled/rode
Option 2
Ride at steady speed ie 20km/h then 30km/h then 40km/h
Take note of speedo readings and Sima's readings
Take the difference example
Setting in computer 1620
Reading in Speedo 30km/h
Reading in Sigma 27km/h
Then you should adjust value = (30/27) x 1620 = 1800
to be re-entered into Sigma
Option 3
Take Bike's odo (trip) meter reading
Do same for Sigma reading
Compare the two and adjust as Option 2
Please note that the bike's speedo is calibrated for fresh tires
worn out tires (lower circumference value) give wrong readings
I am done with my bike with value set to 2040 to sync with my bike's speedo which theoretically is 10% higher compared to calculated values
Actual value should be 1840-1850 for most 120-70R17 wheel size depending on tire depth and rider/bike weight
Here the FINAL view from the rider position

Dearest
Does it have a clock and can the unit be removed for safekeeping. I am more interested in the clock. _________________ What? Me Worry? |

List price is about RM89 so street price should put it at RM68-RM70 or so
I can buy it for you but I would only go to the shop next week Wed as it is near my son's tuition centre.
Yes, it can be removed for safe keeping and it comes with a clock function with numbers BIG ENOUGH to see while riding
BTW,
Local distributer for SIGMA Products is
KSH Bicycle Sdn Bhd
3 Jalan SS2/3 PJ
Tel 03-7877 0450
